报告题目：Flows of Geometric Objects in Fluids--Open Problems

报告摘要：At the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Courant Institute, I wrote a survey paper titled "Analytic issues of Complex Fluids" which was later published in CPAM in 2012. This talk is coming out of it with some additional recent observations. Through four-five concrete examples, I shall discuss a large class of problems that remain challenging to Analysis/PDEs in the last five decades though they all have pretty successful numerical and experimental results. It welcomes young researchers with novel new ideas and techniques.

主讲人简介：林芳华教授为纽约大学柯朗数学研究所讲席教授，是世界上享有盛誉的数学家。他1981年毕业于浙江大学，1985年在明尼苏达大学获博士学位。1990年在国际数学家大会上作45分钟报告，2002年荣获美国数学会博谢奖（Bocher Prize），2004年成为美国艺术和科学院院士，2015年被评为美国数学会会士。林芳华教授在偏微分方程、几何测度论、几何分析等数学领域有着广泛而突出的贡献，特别是在液晶数学理论、调和映照、金兹堡-朗道方程（Ginzburg-Landau Equations）等问题上做出了一系列杰出的工作。林芳华教授已经出版多本专著，并在Acta Math.，Ann. Math.，JAMS，Invent. Math.，CPAM等国际著名期刊上发表了200余篇论文。
